Safety Checklist

Run this checklist before holding or transacting meaningful TDC. Most wallet losses come from bad downloads, missing backups, wrong addresses, phishing, or rushing a large first transfer.

Before receiving

  • Download or open the wallet only from the official project source.
  • Verify releases when checksums or signatures are provided.
  • Create the wallet on a device you control.
  • Back up the wallet before receiving value.
  • Store backup material offline.
  • Test recovery while the balance is small.

Before sending

  • Confirm the recipient address through a second channel for meaningful value.
  • Check the address prefix and network.
  • Send a small test transaction first.
  • Review the fee and total amount.
  • Wait for confirmations before treating the payment as settled.

Stop if

  • The wallet source or download link looks different than expected.
  • The address prefix is for another network.
  • The wallet has not synchronized or cannot show recent blocks.
  • You have not backed up the wallet.
  • You are being pressured to send quickly.
