Get TDC

There are three practical paths to TDC: receive it from another holder, buy it through a venue that lists TDC, or mine it through the current mining path. Tidecoin had no premine or ICO; circulating coins come from mining.

Before acquiring TDC

Install a wallet.
Back up the wallet.
Recover the wallet once, or at least verify the backup material is complete.
Generate a fresh receiving address.
Start with a small test amount.

Acquisition paths

Peer-to-peer receive	Payments, friends, OTC transfers	Share a receiving address from a wallet you control. Wait for confirmations before treating the payment as final.
Exchange or broker	Buying with another asset	Verify the venue, deposit address, withdrawal status, fees, and confirmation policy before using it.
Mining	Users or operators contributing hashpower	Follow the current Mining docs. Tidecoin is moving toward scrypt merged mining through AuxPoW, so use the mining section as the source of truth.

Receiving from another person

For a direct payment, give the sender one address from your wallet. Do not reuse addresses unnecessarily. After the sender broadcasts, your wallet may show the transaction as pending before it is confirmed in a block.

Buying through a venue

Use a small first withdrawal to test the path from the venue to your wallet. Confirm that the withdrawal address belongs to your backed-up wallet and that the venue supports the network you are using.
